Ingound Pools

Inground pools are the most common type of swimming pools found anywhere in the world. As the name itself suggest it is constructed within the ground after excavating the soil from the place and applying certain engineering techniques along with required materials. Varieties of architectural designs and engineering techniques are available to choose from for them who want to build an inground swimming pool in their home.

Building in-ground swimming pools is an extravagant affair as compared to above-ground pools. Inground swimming pools bring permanent aesthetic value to your home with their elegant presence. It adds value to your home and makes it an attractive property. The owner gets attractive buyers even when he plans to sell the home in future due to these inground pools. Usually in US the price of an in-ground pool varies from $7,000 to $80,000. There is a large variation in the price of these inground pools because of the following factors.

  • The size, depth and the location of the swimming pool
  • The materials used for the pool like vinyl, fiberglass or concrete
  • Decking
  • Landscaping cost i.e. removal of trees
  • Choice of coping and tile
  • Installed filtration system
  • Choice of swimming pool contractor
  • Installation of a heating system
  • Special pool features like slides, diving boards, waterfalls, mosaic tiles, landscaping etc
According to experts there are mainly three types of inground pools as follow.
  • Concrete / Gunite pools
These pools are the most common types of inground pools and are mostly custom designed by the owner. Construction time for these pools vary from 3 to 12 weeks.
  • Fiberglass pools
The options for fiberglass inground pools are limited and restricted by the manufacturer. These pools come in pre-fabricated fiberglass shells similar to bathtubs and are installed as one piece. It takes around 2 weeks to install these inground pools
  • Vinyl liner pools
Vinyl liner pools cost less to the owner as compared to others. Also it takes less time to install these pools as it takes only around 1 to 3 weeks. However it is mandatory to replace the vinyl liner after every 7 years.

Construction and design of inground pools require detailed study of the site, determination of the suitability of either of the three pool types, and experienced people backed by capable engineering methods.
